Daily drivers

MacBook Pro M3. The only computer I’ve needed for years. I’ve taken it to Mexico, across the US, to Europe. It has never let me down. If you’re running a service business and debating whether to splurge on the Apple Silicon chip, stop debating.

iPhone. Mostly a hotspot in Baja. Mexico data is cheap and the signal in Ensenada is better than I expected. Still use it as a phone sometimes.

AirPods Pro. Essential for calls from cafes, which is where I work more often than not. The noise cancellation is the feature.

Anker 26,800mAh battery. Non-negotiable for travel days and for days in Baja when the power does what Baja power does. Buy one and never think about it again.

Software I actually use

Claude (Anthropic). My primary AI for everything — thinking through strategy, drafting, editing, building automations. I’m on the Pro plan. It’s worth it.

GoHighLevel. CRM, marketing automation, and the platform most of my clients run on. I’ve been using it for years. This is also the backbone of Soar Portal.

ClickUp. Where all my work lives. Tasks, projects, client work, personal planning. Everything.

Notion. Documentation and reference. ClickUp for action items, Notion for knowledge that needs to live somewhere.

Fathom. AI meeting notes. Takes better notes than I do and actually remembers what was decided. I stopped taking manual notes when I started using this.

Canva Pro. Design. I use it constantly — not just for social posts but for decks, proposals, client reports. If you’re running an agency and you’re not on Canva Pro, you’re wasting time.

1Password. Password manager. Non-negotiable. If you’re not using one, this is the thing to fix today.

Gear that travels with me

Rain Design mStand. Laptop stand. Fits in a bag if I pack carefully. My neck thanks me.

GL.iNet Beryl travel router. Baja internet is its own experience. This helps. I can also use it to share my phone’s hotspot across multiple devices without burning through a separate data plan.

Kindle Paperwhite. More books than screens, when I can manage it. The Paperwhite works in direct sunlight, which matters when you live somewhere sunny.
