Socialism or not, the reality is that we ultimately “foot the bill” regardless. Uninsured people lack access to primary care and thus go to the emergency room for issues that could have been treated by a primary care doctor. It turns out that emergency rooms are really expensive. When uninsured people cannot pay for their service, the hospital has to make up for it somehow. So the cost gets indirectly passed on to people who are insured byway of higher insurance charges which translates to higher premiums and deductibles.
There is a lot of rhetoric about keeping consumers safe online, preventing identity theft, preventing credit card fraud, etc. But what about businesses? Few people other than merchants realize that when there is credit card fraud, the business is the one who has to “eat it”.
I believe the new pricing strategy, hiring Ron Johnson as CEO and bringing on Ellen DeGeneres as spokeswoman are all very good moves by JCP. In fact, I am so confident that I bought some of their stock yesterday. I am excited to see where the company goes from here.
Social media and web 2.0 technology isn’t just a great way to reach consumers and build relationships, but it directly translates to decreased operating costs and increased revenue. With this information in mind, there is no time like the present to establish a social media identity for your company!
In America and abroad we are being hit hard by rising high fuel prices. Not only are these fuel prices painful for individual consumers driving to school or work, but they are affecting many other areas of the economy such as shipping costs, which are driving up food costs, in a vicious cycle.
Osama bin Laden was a very evil man but he knew exactly what he was doing when he attacked the United States on 9/11. His target, the World Trade Center, was a symbol of Western Civilization. Al Qaeda was symbolically destroying the West. Their goal: sparking a civilizational war between the Islamic world and the West. Bin Laden may have killed a lot of people in the 9/11 attacks, but killing people was not his most important goal.
